Happy Feast Day of Chiara Luce Badano! ⠀

Blessed Chiara Luce had the same "little spirituality" of Saint Thérèse. The spirituality of the smile, the art of being happy in all circumstances and to smile at all times. It is the holiness that come alive in the living of each day.
Chiara was born on October 29, 1971, in a small village in Italy. She had a loving family and clung to her Catholic faith from an early age. ⠀
⠀At 9 years old she joined a youth group associated with the Catholic lay Focolare movement and was an avid disciple of their spirituality.⠀
⠀At age 17 Chiara felt a sharp pain in her shoulder that was eventually diagnosed as an aggressive bone cancer called osteosarcoma. It spread quickly and she was soon paralyzed, with the likely chance that she would die.⠀
⠀In the midst of the pain she possessed a supernatural joy and instead of seeing it as a curse, offered it all as a sacrifice to God. Chiara continually said, “For you, Jesus, if you want it, I want it too!” She refused morphine, saying, “It reduces my lucidity, and there’s only one thing I can do now: to offer my suffering to Jesus because I want to share as much as possible in his suffering on the cross.”⠀
⠀Near the end of her short life she said to her mother, “Don’t shed any tears for me. I’m going to Jesus. At my funeral, I don’t want people crying, but singing with all their hearts.”⠀
Chiara Badano left this world on October 7, 1990, just short of her 19th birthday. She departed to meet Jesus with the words, “Goodbye. Be happy because I’m happy.”⠀
“I have nothing left, but I still have my heart, and with that I can always love”. ⠀
Saint Thérèse and Blessed Chiara Luce, pray for us!

Oro supplex et acclinis, cor contritum quasi cinis: gere curam mei finis. Molim u svoj sniženosti, srca puna skrušenosti: daj mi umrijet u milosti.

( Jesus the Way to the Father ) Let not your hearts be troubled; believe [a] in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way where I am going.” [b] 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me. 7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; henceforth you know him and have seen him.” 8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves.

12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; 14 if you ask[c] anything in my name, I will do it.
