Sancta Maria, Mater Crucifixi: lacrymas impertire nobis crucifixoribus Filii tui, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen. Hail Mary, full of sorrows, the Crucified is with thee: tearful art thou amongst women, and tearful is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of the Crucified, grant tears to us crucifiers of thy Son, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Act of Contrition. O my Lord, Thou who alone art most worthy of my love, behold me standing before Thy Divine Presence all in confusion at the thought of the many grievous injuries I have done Thee. I ask Thy pardon for them with my whole heart, repenting of them purely for love of Thee, and hating and loathing them above every other evil of this life, when I think of Thy infinite goodness. As I would rather have died a thousand times than have offended Thee, so now I am most firmly resolved to lose my life rather than offend Thee again. And thou, most tender Virgin, Mother of Mercy and Refuge of sinners, do thou obtain for me the pardon of sin by virtue of thy bitter pains; whilst praying according to the mind of so many holy Pontiffs in order to obtain the indulgences granted to this thy holy Rosary, I hope thereby to obtain remission of all pains due to my sins. 1. With this confidence in my heart, I meditate on the First Sorrow, when Mary, Virgin Mother of my God, presented Jesus, her only Son, in the Temple, laid Him in the arms of holy aged Simeon, and heard his prophetic word, “This One shall be a sword of pain to pierce thine own heart,” foretelling thereby the Passion and Death of her Son Jesus. The Second Sorrow of the Blessed Virgin was when she was obliged to fly into Egypt by reason of the persecution of cruel Herod, who impiously sought to slay her well-beloved Son. One Pater noster and seven Ave Maria s. iii. The Third Sorrow of the Blessed Virgin was when, after having gone up to Jerusalem at the Paschal Feast with Joseph her spouse and Jesus her dear Son, she lost Him on her return to her poor house, and for three days bewailed the loss of her beloved only Son. One Pater noster and seven Ave Maria s. iv. The Fourth Sorrow of the Blessed Virgin was when she met her dear Son Jesus carrying on His tender shoulders the heavy cross whereon He was to be crucified for our salvation. One Pater noster and seven Ave Maria s. v. The Fifth Sorrow of the Blessed Virgin was when she saw her Son Jesus raised upon the tree of the cross, and Blood pouring forth from every part of His Sacred Body ; and when then, after three long hours’ agony, she beheld Him die. One Pater noster and seven Ave Maria s. vi. The Sixth Sorrow of the Blessed Virgin was when she saw the lance cleave the Sacred Side of Jesus, her beloved Son, and when taken down from the cross, His Holy Body was laid in her purest bosom. One Pater noster and seven Ave Maria s. vii. The Seventh and last sorrow of the Blessed Virgin, Queen and Advocate of us her servants, miserable sinners, was when she saw the Holy Body of her Son buried in the grave. One Pater noster and seven Ave Maria s. Then say three Ave Maria’s in veneration of the tears which Mary shed in her sorrows, to obtain thereby true sorrow for sins and the holy Indulgences attached to this pious exercise. SIGNS OF DEMONIC ACTIVITY "This dramatic situation of the whole world, which is in the power of the evil one, makes man's life a battle: The whole of man's history has been the story of dour combat with the powers of evil, stretching, so our Lord tells us, from the very dawn of history until the last day." -Catechism of the Catholic Church, # 409 1 - Foul, rotten odors without a source, e.g. human waste, rotten flesh or sulfur. These odors have a sickening effect. 2 - Knocking and/or banging on or in walls without a discernable source. More often than not, the knocking or banging will be heard in a series of three, mocking the Trinity. 3 - Seeing black shadowy figures during demonic activity. 4 - Overwhelming oppressive feeling and within infested rooms, many claim to experience acute nausea. 5 - Unusual behavior or reactions of animals/pets. Animals are fully aware of a demonic presence. They can be alarmed, frightened or extremely aggressive as to protect family and often become extremely ill. 6 - Overwhelming sense of dread - one intuitively knows that something is not right. 7 - Growling sounds without a discernable source. 8 - Religious objects desecrated or destroyed. 9 - Objects and furniture move without cause and are sometimes thrown at those around at that time. 10 - Paranormal activity during prayer. 11 - Change in a family member’s personality or behavior. Demonic entities normally target the weakest family member. 12 - Havoc with finances, electrical or plumbing or structural integrity of property. Usually one’s finances are strained or on the road to ruin before other problems surface. 13 - Family members may have less than harmonious interactions with one another. They turn on each other. 14 - Swarming insects. In demonic cases, swarming flies are most common although it can be bats, bees, beetles, cockroaches, dragonflies, mosquito and moths. 15 - The sound of footsteps on floors or stairs. 16 - Disturbances in electronic equipment such as digital clocks going backwards, appliances or lights turning on and off. 17 - Temperature differences in localized area. Extremely cold temperatures in certain rooms or areas regardless of outside temperatures. 18 - Fluids appearing on walls or floors. 19 - Black human figures that stand or move about. 20 - Black clouds that look like smoke, moving about without dissipating. 21 - Physical attacks, i.e. scratching, hitting, pushing, biting, punching or being thrown.* 22 - Psychological attacks are possible. The victim begins to think that they are crazy. One begins to hear and see things, they begin to hear the demonic actually speak to them and they begin to think things that they would normally never think.* 23 - Spiritual attacks are possible. 24 - Sexual assaults can happen.* 25 - Levitation of objects or the moving of objects. 26 - Sleep disturbances. *The majority of listed activity falls within the first stage of a demonic haunting – infestation. Demonic infestation is the stage in which demonic entities take ownership of one’s home or property. Please understand that when you are dealing with physical, psychological and sexual attacks, the haunting can immediately progress into the second stage – oppression. This stage is the second stage to possession and is quite dangerous. It is here that the demonic attempt to destroy your will, faith and intellect. Some examples of typical and atypical, but still commonly reported, paranormal activity: 27 - Loud, unexplained bangs, rappings or knocks, strange sounds, music, hearing distinct voices, crying babies or names being called which appear to come out of nowhere. 28 - Objects moving (either visibly or while you are out) without a human explanation. 29 - Strange feelings of extreme fear in certain rooms for no apparent reason, feelings of being watched or "not alone." 30 - Vibrating sensations, feeling a blast of unusually cold or hot air where there shouldn't be, having hair pulled or body touched in some way. unexplainable cuts, scratches or bruises that appear and disappear suddenly. 31 - unusual coincidences (this is a broad topic but often manifests as something that just has no worldly explanation, for example: finding a lost item after finding something that points you to where you would find it and instantly recognizing the connection.) 32 - Visuals - These can be shadows, lights, body parts or even full bodied persons which appear and then vanish. 33 - Smells that can not be explained, such as a certain type of perfume that appears at certain times or the lingering smell of feces in a home that has no reason to smell. Other signs of activity to watch for in conjunction with some of these: 34 - Sudden, unexplainable changes in behavior or interests in family members 35 - An interest in the occult, or a marked change in interest in self-destructive behaviors like alcoholism, drug use or promiscuity. 36 - Preoccupation with new age or esoteric teachings and ideas. 37 - Extremely unhealthful physical habits (eating only one type of thing, or not eating at all, for example.) 38 - A definite feeling of unease/fear/ lack of peace/ even chaos within a family on a regular basis or within a building or place. 39 - Strange coincidences such as all members of a family dying of unnatural causes or a generational inability to come out of poverty, a recurring sickness or mental sickness. 40 - A sudden ability to speak a different language, external knowledge of interior things which others have not revealed, new "abilities" such as increased psychic activity, trances, or visions which may prove accurate. 41 - Superhuman strength that did not exist previously. 42 - Night terrors, recurring nightmares, sensations of physical heaviness on the body which do not allow a person to move. 43 - New physical manifestations: tics that appear only when a certain mood or topic of conversation occurs, for example. 44 - A strong attraction towards certain religious items or a complete disgust with certain religious items. 45 - Markedly different behavior when certain types of activities take place, in particular in conjunction with religious activities. (for example, getting violently angry after receiving communion or being confessed, responding poorly to prayer or being unable to pray oneself.) 46 - A strong belief in the effects of the spirit world on oneself coupled with a desire to intensify the paranormal experiences. 47 - Strange behavior, such as talking to oneself or making gestures that are not deciferable. Any of these things needs to be examined further if they are a regular occurance in your home or place of business, and most people today go the way of the professional Ghost Hunter, seeking out organizations that can confirm the presence of an "unnatural" activity. Because of their media popularity, many people are now "amateur" Ghost Hunters themselves, spending weekends and free time "investigating" houses they believe might be haunted. Some people, however, aren't as enthralled by paranormal activity. And that's the people who are victims of a haunting-- they daily experience the terrifying reality that others seek out for thrills and chills. When they call paranormal investigators, it's usually because they are frightened or tired of being surprised and curious. Not all, some will call because they think ghosts are cool and they want to know if the group can find any in their homes. The experiences of victims and seekers vary widely, but all remain within certain boundaries and are somewhat understandable when explained and investigated by experienced investigators who have developed experience and a body of knowledge, a science, from what they do. Are bodies made up of metals and gases, how will they influence us? The same thing happens with magic, which he attributes things to a power they do not have. For example, carrying a horseshoe because it gives you luck is a lie, “he said. 3. People who have permanent diarrhea and do not improve with anything; people who experience eye pain and ophthalmologists do not diagnose anything. St. Catherine of Sweden Saint of the Day St. Catherine of Sweden (1331-1381) was the fourth of eight children born to St. Bridget of Sweden and her husband, Ulfo. As a child she was sent by her parents to be educated in a convent, and was later given in marriage to a German nobleman. Catherine was able to persuade her husband, a virtuous young man, to live together in a mutual vow of perpetual chastity. They lived happily together in complete devotion to God. After the death of her father, and with her husband's consent, Catherine accompanied her mother to Rome. While there, Catherine's husband died. She continued to be a companion to her mother and rejected further offers of marriage. Her mother worked to establish a new religious order, called the Order of the Holy Savior, or the Bridgettines. After her mother's death, Catherine took her body back to Sweden for burial while continuing the work of establishing the Bridgettines. She later traveled back to Rome to advocate for her mother's canonization and for Pope Urban VI to ratify her Order. While in Rome she became great friends with St. Catherine of Siena. St. Catherine of Sweden finally returned to Sweden and became abbess of the newly founded Bridgettines, living the rest of her days as a model of prayer and penance. St. Catherine of Sweden is the patron saint against abortions and miscarriages. Her feast day is March 24th.
