Saint Teresa of Lisieux is undoubtedly one of the most popular French saints. She was born in 1873 and as a child she wanted to become a nun. From an early age she developed a very close relationship with Jesus and Mary. At the age of 10, she was miraculously healed of an illness when she saw Mary smiling at her. In 1888, when she was only 15, Teresa entered a Carmelite monastery and took the name of Sister Teresa of the Child Jesus. A few years later, the Mother Superior asked her to write down her childhood memories. VATIKANSTATEN ‐ Antalet katoliker växer sakta men säkert. Särskilt på en kontinent ökar den. Men den minskar inte heller i de flesta europeiska länder. Situationen är annorlunda för präster och ordensfolk. Dela: Antalet katoliker i världen växte till 1,39 miljarder år 2022. Det var en ökning med en procent jämfört med 2021, enligt den årliga kyrkostatistiken som släpptes på torsdagen. Antalet medlemmar ökade särskilt i Afrika, där det ökade med tre procent till 273 miljoner människor. Det betyder att år 2022 kom ungefär en av fem katoliker från Afrika. I Europa var antalet oförändrat, 286 miljoner. På kontinenterna Amerika och Asien var det en ökning med 0,9 respektive 0,6 procent. I kontrast till det ökade antalet katoliker har antalet präster fortsatt att minska minimalt. Den sjönk med 0,03 procent till 407 730. Detta var en fortsättning på den svagt nedåtgående trenden sedan 2012. Nedgången var 1,7 procent starkast i Europa, där antalet präster fortfarande är störst i absoluta tal. I Afrika ökade däremot antalet präster med 3,2 procent, i Asien med 1,6 procent. I Nord- och Latinamerika fanns det ungefär lika många präster 2022 som 2021. Čitanje Djela apostolskih Dok su Petar i Ivan nakon ozdravljenja hromoga govorili narodu, priđu im svećenici, hramski zapovjednik i saduceji, ozlovoIjeni što uče narod i navješćuju — u Isusu — uskrsnuće od mrtvih; pograbe ih i bace u tamnicu do sutra jer već bijaše večer. Ostali učenici dođoše s lađicom vukući mrežu s ribom jer ne bijahu daleko od kraja, samo kojih dvjesta lakata. Kad iziđu na kraj, ugledaju pripravljenu žeravicu i na njoj pristavljenu ribu i kruh. Kaže im Isus: »Donesite riba što ih sada uloviste.« Nato se Šimun Petar popne i izvuče na kraj mrežu punu velikih riba, sto pedeset i tri. I premda ih je bilo toliko, mreža se ne raskinu. Kaže im Isus: »Hajde, doručkujte!« I nitko se od učenika ne usudi upitati ga: »Tko si ti?« Znali su da je Gospodin. Isus pristupi, uze kruh i dade im, a tako i ribu.
